Our secret formula isn’t really a secret at all. In 1996 Dr. Karl Kapp published a very simple formula for process improvement success - it’s known simply as The USA Principle - and it’s how TradewindsGroup approaches process improvement everyday.
How does The USA Principle work? Before you can improve any given process, you must first Understand the existing process. Once you understand the existing process, the next step is to determine if the process is even necessary and when it is, are there are ways that it can be improved, or Simplified.
The final step is to seek out ways to Automate the remaining processes whenever practical. It’s a simple, powerful and straightforward process improvement philosophy and despite the title of Karl’s book, The USA Principle itself is not limited to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) related process improvement projects!
